What is pearl Cous Cous, and how do we make, one perfect Pearl Cous Cous with tomato salad?
One thing to remember is, that there is no connection with the original Cous Cous, the Moroccan one!
Pearl Cous Cous or Israeli couscous is not the same as regular couscous. The main differences are that Israeli couscous is toasted whereas regular couscous is steamed, and it has a different shape. They also taste differently and even have different nutrition content.
You treat Pearl Cous cous like pasta, it needs cooking, therefore always look for the cooking instructions of the manufacturer!
Regular Cous cous doesn’t need cooking, just pay attention to the measurements and add it to hot water, or broth for more flavor and taste!
There are many ways to enjoy Pearl Cous Cous!
Here is my personal preference!
Easy, fresh, delicious! Pearl Cous Cous with tomato salad!
Cous Cous cooked according to the manufacture’s instructions!
Place in a large bowl!
For the Greek tomato salad!
2 tomatoes sliced
1 medium-size cucumber cubed
1 onion cubed
5 leaves fresh basil
olives as many as you like, I have Kalamatas!
Feta cheese as much as you like
Capers as many as you like
For the dressing!
Salt, oregano, olive oil, and white balsamic vinegar!
And a touch of sugar!
Make the Greek salad in a bowl, mix all the ingredients together well, and place on top of the Cous Cous!
Mix well, and you have an amazing Pearl Cous Cous with tomato salad!
