Bundles with kasseri and mushrooms – easy hors d’oeuvres for entertaining
15 Bundles Bake 350 F for 15-20 min.
For the dough.
- Ingredients
- ½ cup warm milk
- 1 Tsp instant active dry yeast
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 3 cups all purpose flour
In a large bowl dissolve dry yeast in warm milk with sugar and salt.
Add oil and egg mix well and slowly incorporate flour, kneading softly.
Let dough rest in a warm place just until you prepare the filling.
When ready to use divide the dough in 15 equal portions.
On a floured surface with your rolling pin open 5 inch phyllo circles
Place 2 Tbs of mixture in the middle of the round little phyllo, gather the ends in the middle and squish it together to create your little bundles.
This dough is so manageable it’s a pleasure to work with!
Filling
Place oil and butter in large frying pan, sauté onions and mushrooms over medium heat until transparent
Deglaze with balsamic vinegar for 1 minute and remove from heat.
Let cool for a few minutes and add walnuts salt pepper and cheese.
Taste your filling and adjust seasonings, I’m certain you love this amazing combination of flavors.
