Osso Buco

A classic delicious recipe,
Osso Buco, is a recipe from Milan,  that very famous busy city in Italy.

I love Osso Buco which by the way, means bone with a hole, in Italian.

Here is my recipe for Osso Buco, with mushrooms onion and red peppers…

The classic recipe is with diced onions, celery, and carrots!

Playing around and creating your own recipes should be the objective of any good cook…You just have to know what you like and what goes well together…

Experiment and have fun, it always turns out well anyway, very rare is the food not eatable, and do you know when we learn? When we make mistakes, therefore, embrace your mistakes, love them and learn from them, be happy and tomorrow is another day…

I like to think of Osso Buco as a winter recipe, it needs time to cook and the warmth of the stove is very welcome on a very cold day…It can be cooked on the stovetop or in the oven, whatever makes you happy, in the oven, you forget about it, but you have to be on top of things when you make it on the stove top…

Fish Plaki Litsa!(A Greek delicacy)

Written by litsa. Posted in Main Dishes, Recipes, Uncategorized

Fish Plaki is a way to prepare fish that it’s so delicious and easy at the same time.

A very old recipe that comes along nicely with time and it pleases even the new generation of foodies.

It is amazing how many people don’t like fish, fish the smell they don’t like!

Fish is very delicate! It has to be fresh, and then it smells like the sea, fresh and inviting!

I always try to find new ways to make fish and somehow I overlooked this Plaki recipe, my mother’s favorite one, I love fish and seafood, I can exist by having just fish, imagine…

Greek chicken soup Avgolemono

Greek Chicken Soup Avgolemono is my favorite soup when made from scratch, delicious and healthy! As you can see I don’t have many chicken recipes on my site. Growing up my mother hated chickens, she used to watch them eat when she was growing up and she said no, not for me, free-range chickens eat everything …Imagine never eating chicken growing up. In my early teens, I started having chicken and it was so good… I like chicken and I will make different recipes for the bird but I have limits. I always wonder about the fascination North Americans have with chicken and it puzzles me…One thing that comes to mind is, it’s not expensive and it cooks easily…Well, those are very good reasons to have chicken, I guess…I prefer Lamb, Veal and Fish, am Greek after all…And if I can, I will not serve chicken to my guests…But I will serve Greek chicken soup Avgolemono!!
