The cooking book that made my life easier in the kitchen
By Margaret Mwangi
My name is Margaret a Kenyan living in Greece and a mother of two. Like all mothers i like feeding my family with a balanced diet, but with a full time job i don’t have enough time left for the kitchen.
My children being born in Greece love Greek cuisine and so that was a challenge because I grew up with a different cuisine. I remember whenever I would make lentil soup I ended up eating alone, not even my husband liked it.
Three years ago I came across litsa’s book, “TAKE THE TASTE OF GREECE WITH YOU” and started using it , and the first thing I made was lentil soup.
My family loved it!!! I was so happy when my son said “thank you for the food mom, it was great” it became their favorite food.
That book made me improve my cooking, it’s quick and easy to prepare and I would suggest it to all working mothers who don’t want to see their children eating junk food and have little time left for the kitchen. Try litsa’s book and I assure you that all you’ll hear from your children is “thank you mom”
Thank you Litsa.
GREAT BOOK!!!

When you do "take the taste of Greece with you" it means TO BE LIBERAL WITH OLIVE OIL. because none of the recipes in the book will taste as good as they should, if you cut down on the olive oil.
This is few of my favorites: page 86 ( veal with orzo) it is not only my favorite, my family also love it.
page 98 (moussaka) who does not love mousse?
page 14 (spinach rolls)
Page 118 (galaktobouriko) you can’t buy it in the restaurants any more
page 116 (sesame cookies)
There is only few recipes in the book that I did not try yet; most of the ones that I have tried, we have adopted. This is also a great gift to give. I have given it to some friends and family and they are also enjoying the taste of Greece.
I hope you are doing well

Thanks for the kaftoteeri recipe, my mom made it last week and I brought some home as well. I had a dinner party on Friday and all the boys went crazy over the dip!
Much love
Thank you very much for providing such wonderful recipe books!

As a first generation greek girl, I spent my childhood watching my mom cook up greek creations in the kitchen, but had it not been for your cookbooks, I would not be able to recreate all of the dishes that are part of our cultural heritage. Your recipes are succinct, easy to follow and taste delicious! Cheers to the chef!
Thank you for taking the time to create such a wonderful recipe collection

I'm a Greek woman who knows her way around the greek culinary arts, but sometimes it's nice to have a recipe book to refer to, and even find new ways of cooking old favourites. Thanks for the tasty dishes! |
